The Real Food Academy Cafe is a fantastic hidden gem for lunch. Food is terrific; healthy; pure and full of flavor. And you can tell that the owners and service staff take great pride in what they do.My friend and I shared two dishes: sweet potato noodle pad thai and an impossible burger. Both were delicious and the kind of memorable experience that will keep us coming back for more.

This cafe is a real gem, the food is incredible and because of The Real Food Academy philosophy of changing out the ingredients for healthier options, you can indulge in your favorite dishes without feeling any guilt afterwards! Win winnnnnn!Everything is carefully prepared and presented beautifully and you get a really good sense that the chefs take extraordinary pride in every aspect of getting your food to the table.It's a superb place for vegetarians/vegans/plant based people to eat because the meals are mostly 'meat optional', which I especially love. But - that said, there is definitely something for everyone - the beef is grass-fed and sourced responsibly and the empanadas are to die for. And the portions are generous.I recommend it very highly to all my friends, and all you here reading this review - i'm certain you will want to come back!Congratulations Chef Maria for bringing your cafe vision to life so perfectly!

I booked today’s class for the first time for my 11 year old daughter, at first she was reluctant to go but by the end of the class she did not want to leave. She had an amazing time! They made stuffed pasta shells, Caesar salad and ginger bread cookies. The owners are amazing super attentive, hospitable and genuine. It is not easy to find a place where you can come together with people you don’t even know and connect so naturally. Chef Maria and Arthur share a passion for the kitchen and bringing people together. While the kids are cooking, parents are able to watch from the loft and can take pictures. You can also enjoy their cafe (which by the way serves AMAZING FOOD) and meet people who are there for the same reason. It’s an organized environment which makes it possible for the kids to engage and be receptive to the cooking instructions. We will definitely be back!!!!! Thank you Maria and Arthur!

Our Story
How We Got Here
No undertaking of this size is without a history, a dream, a goal, and more than a little sweat and tears. We are no exception.
The Real Food Academy was founded in 2008 and is the brainchild of chef Maria Cummins. She began by offering after-school programs at a local Montessori school. Soon, she added birthday parties, fields trips for schools, and in early 2009, brought a website online to help her reach more people. .
The growth of the Academy has been steady, adding new types of classes, expanding to the adult sector, and offering business and team building parties. Soon, their small space wasn't able to handle the steady and ever growing size of the parties and classes.
In late 2016, they signed a lease on a new building that would effectively quadruple their space. Construction began to make the space uniquely theirs. Sadly, they encountered many issues, and had to revise plans a number of times (hence, the tears).
However, perseverance and patience finally paid off in January of 2018 when the new space was ready and classes were moved to the larger space.
Now, Maria and Arthur could focus on one of Maria's long held dreams... a café that offered the same type of "real food" Maria was becoming known for.

Maria Cummins Founded Cooking With Kids Miami In 2008, built up the business and later expanded to become The Real Food Academy. She is the head chef.
Art Cummins
Founder
Arthur Cummins joined Cooking With Kids Miami in 2010. Prior to that, Arthur spent his entire adult life in the field of sales and marketing. He's been the driving force behind the steady growth of The Real Food Academy.
